You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been around lately or maybe not. Anyway, where have I been?
I celebrated New Year and Christmas. Christmas in Russia is celebrated on January 7th. Yes, we celebrate Christmas after New Year. Weird, I know. The date is different because The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates religious holidays according to the Julian calendar. Russia uses the Gregorian calendar for secular purposes. In Russia New Year celebrations are big, while Christmas is more religious and smaller holiday.
Christmas and New Year holidays in Russia last from January 1st to January 10th. We visited our friends on Holidays and spent wonderful ten days in the countryside. We had a lot of winter fun. Snowball fights, sledding, making a snowman… I didn’t plan to blog during Holidays; I wanted to step down and have some quality family time. I planned to read, but for some reason I haven’t done any reading. I tried a couple of books, but I just wasn’t feeling it.
However I listened to audiobooks. I started Edge series by Ilona Andrews; and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m obsessed. I haven’t read anything by this team before. A lot of my friends are fans of Ilona Andrews and they constantly pushed their books my way. I wish I listened. I’m currently listening to the third book, and it looks like I end up binge listening to the whole series. These audiobooks are narrated by Renee Raudman and she is amazing.
I’ve been really awful with answering comments on my blog lately. I’m so sorry about it. Thank you for stopping by and reading my posts. Your comments make my day.
I noticed that when I’m limited in time I abandon comments on my blog and only visit my friend’s blogs. I’m curious what would you prefer: a visit to your blog and my comment on your post or an answer to your comment on my blog? (if I don’t have time to do both)
Now I’m slowly easing back into blogging. I want to answer comments on my blog, but it will probably take me some time. And I can’t wait to visit your blogs and see what you’ve been up to.
