Audio Obsession #8. My 2016 audiogoals.

I’m not very good at making bookish plans. I don’t like to feel pressure in my reading. But with so many of my friends proclaiming their goals, I was tempted. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself though. So instead of naming my list “audiobooks I plan to listen to in 2016”, I go for “audiobooks I want to listen to in 2016”.

Click on the cover to find a book on GR.

Series I haven’t read yet which I want to listen to in 2016.

YA audiobooks I want to listen to in 2016.

NA, Adult audiobooks I want to listen to in 2016.

Have you read any of these books? Do you have any of them on your tbr-list? If you do, you should definitely consider audio format.

  1. The Raven Cycle is wonderful on audio! Perfect comedic timing even if the female voices are a little odd at times, I think it’s wonderful!

I read Black-Eyed Susans and really enjoyed the mystery. I think it’d be a great audio book with the right narrator. The Martian and Red Hill, were excellent audios! I read Sustained and loved it. The kids were so darned cute! I also want to listen to Pamela Clare’s Extreme Exposure. It’s next on my buy list, cheap if you buy the e-copy to add the narration. I think it’s $3.99 for the book and an additional $3.99 for the audio with it. Great deal, in my opinion. :)

    • I can’t wait to finally start The Raven Cycle, I’m waiting when the last installment would be released. Extreme Exposure (actually the whole I-Team series) is narrated by Kaleo Griffith. I’ve heard he is good. Several of my friends recommended this narrator to me. He also narrated first two books in The Cavanaugh Brothers series, if I’m not mistaken you haven’t read them.

  2. You have so many great audiobooks to look forward to Ksenia, I got a few audiobooks recently, but haven’t had a chance to listen to any of them :( I think I’m going to save a few of my audible credits up too for the newer releases. I can’t wait to see how you get on with these :)

    • If you need any audiobook recs, feel free to ask me. I’ll gladly push your way my favorite audiobooks, Jasprit.

  3. I LOOOOVE audiobooks! I really liked The Raven Boys on audio though I know people who didn’t love it as much. I wouldn’t rec Sanctum on audio though? I got it last year when it was on a sale and it was oneof the worst audiobooks I’ve read (and I’ve read quite a lot). The narrator makes such weird accents and they all sound like when Americans aim to do Russian accent? Which, lol, doesn’t make any sense in this concept. I wonder if I would have liked this without audio (I own it in hardcover) but now I don’t even want to read that series because the audio was so weak. I read it at the same time a friend of mine read it on audio too and we both disliked the narration so much. I really want to listen to Emmy & Oliver, though! I have it in ebook so maybe if the price is reasonable I’ll get it on audio one of these days with whispersync 😉 My wishlist contains some Maggie Stiefvater as well and I can’t wait to own Long Way Down and Some Kind of Perfect (both by Krista and Becca Ritchie) in audiobooks because that series on audio is absolute gold tbh <3

    • Oh, sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy Sanctum in audio, Siiri. Several of my friends enjoyed it. Well I guess I need to listen to sample so I can decide for myself. I dislike Russian accent made by American narrators so much, probably because I unsuccessfully try to get rid of my Russian accent. Lol. I’ve only read the first book in Addicted series, and I want to continue; I think I’ll check out audiobooks, thanks for recs.

    • I’ll gladly give you audio recs, Aentee, though we don’t read the same genres. Are you interested in contemporary recs? You said you are picky about the narrators, what kind of narration do you like?
